Guided visit to Gallipoli, in the heart of Salento
The visit will lead us to the discovery of Gallipoli, the "pearl of the Ionian Sea", one of the most fascinating and important seaside towns of Salento. We will explore what, for three centuries, has been one of the major ports of Europe, and we will be lulled by the rhythms of this amazing town.
The walk will start from the Riviera Nazario Sauro, part of the panoramic road overlooking the sea that surrounds the old town; from here we will enjoy a breathtaking view along the fortified walls of the historical centre from where the gaze can embrace the beach of Purità with its fine gold sand. After visiting the Church of San Francesco d'Assisi and the Oratorio Confraternale della Purità we will enter the reticulated historical centre and discover the most representative places and monuments in the town, including the Cathedral of St. Agata, winding alleys, courtyards and ancient palaces full of history that never ceases to enchant.
A journey during which we will be involved not only by the rhythms of the town, but also by its colours and perfumes, remaining enchanted by history, art and culture of a place always fascinating to visit.
